Different Types of Connectors You Must Know About

Wire connectors and electrical connectors are multi-piece devices widely used in applications ranging from automotive and marine to farming for different electrical requirements. There are many different types of connectors available to choose from, and each series carries a unique set of characteristics depending on how the electrical pass-through connectors are used and applied. The electronic fuel injection or EFI system incorporates sophisticated computer controls with a high-pressure fuel delivery system for achieving maximum power and fuel efficiency in most modern vehicles.

Often power and signal wires must be forced through the friction and vacuum walls in devices or machinery, where the only alternative is the sealed firewall harness connector. There are different types of connectors available in the market, depending upon their application and requirement.

Weather pack wire connectors
The Weather Pack wire connectors are the premium, and environment line of Delphi / Packard sealed connections. These are intended for a vehicle's engine compartment and can be used in several different applications, whether it is to build a custom wire harness or simply to replace individual components. They're not strictly intended for vehicle use, however. Weather Pack electrical connectors are also an ideal choice for applications in the marine, agricultural, and other harsh environments.

Metri Pack 280 Sealed Wire Connectors
Metri Pack 280 Series wire connectors are OEM connectors that are widely used in aerospace, marine, and agricultural vehicle engine compartments. Delphi / Packard uses silicone sealed nylon plastic to manufacture the 280 series, which prevents the entry of moisture and dust into the bond. The Metri Pack electrical connectors have female housing and male housing components available in 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5-way choices.

Packard 56 Electrical Connectors
The Packard Type 56 line of electrical connectors and terminals for the 50s, 60's, '70s, and early '80s are the standard OEM connectors on American cars. Those electrical connectors have since been replaced by sealed connectors, which were used throughout the engine compartment and vehicle. The series is available in options 1, 2, 3 or 4

Deutsch Compatible Electrical Connectors
Deutsch Compatible line of electrical connectors is known for providing protection, durability, and UV resistance. This category contains four different sets of connector systems, including ATM Series™, AT Series™, ATP Series™, and AHD Series™. Each series has its own set of benefits to offer to depend on your electrical and application needs. You can easily find 18 pin Deutsch connectors in most electrical vehicle wiring or other appliances.
